Gintec Ground Cover
Weed control on landscape nurseries has been an on going problem over the years
. Herbicide sprays have been used with success, but crop damage could occur if
during the spraying process material should drift onto plant material or if the
applicator is careless. Herbicide granules could also cause damage if during
application material would get into containers etc. Plastic polyethylene
sheeting forms an excellent weed barrier, however, it does not allow water to
seep through causing unsatisfactory working conditions after a rain shower or
irrigation.
Gintec Black Ground Cover is woven from 100% black polypropylene slit
film. The yarns contain 2% carbon black, used as an UV inhibitor and light
lock. This product allows water to flow through the fabric, but prevents weed
growth from penetrating through the yarns. The black ground cover has green
marker lines spaced on 12" centers to aid in container alignment. Ground cover
is woven in 3', 6', 10', 12' and 15' widths. Standard mill length is 300'.
Other widths may be obtained by Gintec Shade Technologies fabricating
techniques. Custom lengths may also be ordered.
Gintec White Ground Cover has the same benefits as the black fabric. The
white ground cover also increases light levels in greenhouses during the early
spring months and on overcast days which is important for plant quality. This
product is not recommended for outside use. White ground cover has green marker
lines spaces on 12" centers to aid in container alignment. White ground cover
is woven in 12' and 15' widths. Standard mill length is 300'. Other widths may
be obtained by Gintec Shade Technologies fabricating techniques. Custom lengths
may also be ordered.
